In recognising the ongoing challenges and needs facing the tourism industry in terms of attracting and retaining quality and skilled human capital, PATA Malaysia Chapter (PMC) supported by Ministry of Tourism and Culture Malaysia and Tourism Malaysia and in collaboration with several Universities & Colleges offering tourism & hospitality programmes in Malaysia, has been holding a Tourism Career Fair annually since 2014 with the theme ‘Today’s talent, Tomorrow’s success’. The Fairs had been very successful with very good response from both the Students from the Universities/Colleges within Malaysia and the Exhibitors from the tourism and hospitality sector. The Fairs had also been instrumental in PMC winning the PATA Most Innovative Chapter Award in 2015 and the Spirit of PATA awards in 2016 and recently for 2017.
The Career Fair will be a one day event aimed at connecting fresh graduates and graduates from the tourism and hospitality faculties of the various universities & colleges in Malaysia with the potential employers (corporate organizations) from the tourism and hospitality sector under one roof.
Student participants from more than forty (40) universities, colleges and training institutes within Malaysia which offer tourism and hospitality related courses have been invited to the Fair. Around 30 main exhibitors (organizations) are expected to participate at the Fair and they shall include organisations from the tourism and hospitality industry such as airlines, hoteliers, tour & travel agents, convention centres as well as theme/national parks.
