Selamat Datang ke Malaysia
(Welcome to Malaysia)
Malaysia, as a federation of states reunited after the departure of British colonizers in 1957, has rapidly evolved into a developing nation with high technology industries and a moderate oil wealth. It is now one of the richest countries of Southeast Asia.
Modern civilisation and its infrastructures, large cities and their skyscrapers, are in great contrast to a pristine and wild nature of rugged mountains which reach dramatically to the skies while rainforest-clad slopes sweep down to floodplains teeming with forest life. Cool highland hideaways roll down to warm, sandy beaches and rich, humid mangroves. A bubbling, bustling melting-pot of races and religions where Malays, Indians, Chinese and many other ethnic groups live together. This multiculturalism has made Malaysia a gastronomical paradise and home to hundreds of colourful festivals.
