SYKUL20S (Kuala Lumpur / Penang (5D/4N)) --> click on the title for details
Day 1: At 0830/0900 hrs, pick up at the hotel lobby and depart for Cameron Highlands. Drive through a scenic mountain jungle winding road and stop at a small Orang Asli dwelling on the way up; the area around Cameron Highlands is known for its high population of natives. Upon arrival in Cameron Highlands, visit the tea plantation and later check into the hotel. Overnight. (B) *Please note that the tea factory is closed on Mondays and public holidays (and also on Tuesdays if the preceding Monday is a public holiday).
Day 2: ABF. At 0830/0900 hrs, depart for Bukit Merah, the only orang-utan research facility in Peninsular Malaysia. A short boat ride on the lake will take you to the orang-utan island, where the primates roam free. This unique island serves as a breeding sanctuary as well as a conservation, research and education centre to better understand this endangered species. From Bukit Merah, drive about one hour to the royal town of Kuala Kangsar, where you will visit the Ubudiah Mosque. From there, continue towards Belum Rainforest Reserve, situated near to the border with Thailand. Arrive in the evening (about 3 hours from Kuala Kangsar) and check into the nature lodge of Belum. Dinner and overnight at the lodge. (B/D)

Day 3: ABF. At 0900 hrs, depart for 2½ hrs excursion of Belum Forest on foot and by boat. The trip explores the various flora and fauna of the area - one of the oldest and most pristine rainforests in Peninsula Malaysia. A light picnic lunch is included. At around 1300 hrs, transfer back to the resort for check out. At 1400hrs, leave Belum heading to Penang. Upon arrival in Penang, check into your hotel. Overnight. (B/L)

Day 4: ABF. At 0930hrs, depart for a Full Day Tour of the main attractions of Penang island. The visit includes: the Kek Lok Si Temple, where a big statue dedicated to the Goddess of Mercy dominates the scene, Botanical Gardens, Batik Factory, Thai Temple of the Reclining Buddha, the Burmese Temple, drive through the Esplanade to admire the colonial architecture of the surrounding buildings, Khoo Kongsi, a beautiful Chinese Clan House and a walking tour through the Street of Harmony. Day 1: On arrival at the Kuching International Airport, meet with our guide and transfer to your hotel for check-in. At 1400 hrs, depart for a city tour. This includes a visit to the Tua Pek Kong temple, the oldest Chinese temple in Sarawak, built in 1876. From there, view the imposing Fort Margarita. Drive by St. Joseph’s Cathedral, the Syariah (Muslim) Court, traditional Malay houses built on stilts and the mosque built along the bank of the river, which winds through the heart of the city. Look out for the majestic Astana, the former palace of the White Rajahs, now the official residence of the Governor of Sarawak. Stop for a few minutes in front of the old colonial Court House, complete with a clock tower and a granite obelisk built in memory of the second White Rajah, Charles Brooke. The highlight of the tour is a visit to the Sarawak Museum, one of the finest in South-East Asia. It is a treasure house of artifacts and exhibits of great archaeological and cultural significance. After the tour, transfer back to the hotel. Overnight.
Day 2: ABF. Depart for a 25-minute drive to the beach of the Damai Peninsula where you will board a speedboat and proceed to the river mouth of the mangrove belt in search of the Irrawaddy (or snub fin) dolphins. Length is about 100cm at birth and 230cm at full maturity. Birth weight is about 10kg while for Adults may exceed 130kg. Lifespan is about 30years. The Irrawaddy dolphin is a slow swimmer; it surfaces in a rolling fashion and lifts its tail fluke clear of the water for a deep dive only. Observe the dolphins while they swim around the boats of the local fishermen in search for food. Afterwards, we will try to spot wild crocodiles along the riverbanks of the mangrove forest. Another 45 minutes’ ride will bring you to the Satang Islands, located off the coast of Santubong. On the way, pass by ‘Bird’s Rock’, a rocky islet which is an important habitat for Black-naped and Bridled terns. A packed lunch is provided on the island. Enjoy the beautiful view from the island, relax at the beach or go for a swim or snorkel in the clear water. By latest 1400 hrs, before the winds make the sea rough, return to Damai and from there back to your hotel in Kuching and overnight. (B/L) From October to March, sea conditions may not allow for the day trip and in such cases the day's activities will be substituted with a visit to Bako National Park with lunch.
Day 3: ABF. In the morning meet your guide in the hotel lobby and start your journey to the Longhouse Safari along the Pan Borneo Highway, passing through beautiful sceneries of rural villages, towns and gardens of pepper, rubber and rice fields. Along the way, visit the Semenggoh Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre situated about 30 minutes drive from Kuching. It provides a rare opportunity to be at close range with the “Wild Man of Borneo” and to observe its behaviour and activities in its natural habitat. Before arriving at the feeding platform for the 09:00 hrs feeding, you will have a brief experience walking through the amazing untouched rainforest. The centre closes at 09:30 hrs. A short stop will be made at the town of Serian where you can explore the market where the locals sell fruits and vegetables. From Serian your trip will bring you to Lachao where you will have your lunch and the opportunity to buy presents for the Iban families in the longhouse. After lunch in Lachao your onward journey will bring you to the Batang Ai jetty from where you will cross the lake by boat (at 16:15 or 17:30 hrs) to the Batang Ai Longhouse Resort. Check-in. Dinner and overnight at resort. (B/L/D) NB Orang Utan presence is not guaranteed. The Batang Ai Lounghouse Resort, managed by Hilton, integrates nature, adventure and culture. Located on the shore of a spectacular man-made lake, it has 100 guest rooms, all individually air-conditioned, with ceiling fans, private bathrooms and IDD phone. A “Ruai” (the traditional longhouse veranda) provides an unobstructed view of the lake and its surrounding forest. Restaurant, bar, lounge and swimming pool are available.
Day 4: ABF. At around 0930 hrs, board a boat across the Batang Ai Lake to reach an original Iban longhouse. Tour the longhouse, watch the natives while they organize their daily chores, and enjoy a 'native style' lunch. Return to the resort in the early afternoon. Dinner and overnight. (B/L/D)
Day 5: ABF. At 0730/0830 hrs, depart for Kuching, with a stop for lunch at a local restaurant en route. Upon arrival in Kuching, estimated in mid-afternoon, transfer to your hotel or to the airport. (B/L) Onward flights from Kuching should not depart earlier than 1630 hrs. It is advisable to avoid carrying big luggage to the Batang Ai Longhouse Resort due to transportation restrictions. We strongly recommend bringing along only what is strictly necessary for the short stay and leaving any big luggage in Kuching. If you are travelling to an onward destination, you can opt to leave your luggage in deposit at the Batang Ai jetty instead. Suggested items to bring along: comfortable walking shoes, raincoat, insect repellent, swim wear, sandals or slippers, sun screen lotion, hat, torchlight, small hand luggage or backpack.

Day 1: On arrival at Kota Kinabalu Airport, meet with our guide and transfer to your hotel. At around 1300 hrs, depart for the Mari Mari Cultural Village, located amidst a remote forest setting in Kionsom, Inanam, 25 minutes from the city. Upon arrival at the village, you will be ushered to various traditional homes of Sabahan ethnic communities - the Dusun, Rungus, Lundayeh, Bajau and Murut, while the friendly village guide will give you a thorough introduction to the different houses, customs and ritualistic ceremonies which are enacted to enable guests to get acquainted with each village tribe and experience their rich culture. You will see demonstrations on blowpipe-making, fire-starting using bamboo, tattoo-making, and will have a chance to dance and jump on the Lansaran, a traditional trampoline-like floor. Sample Sabahan traditional delicacies and enjoy a cultural show performance followed by a delectable traditional high tea, before being transferred back to your hotel in Kota Kinabalu. Overnight.
Day 2: Breakfast. At 0730 hrs, depart for Kinabalu National Park (located 85 km east of Kota Kinabalu; travelling time approximately 2½ hrs). On the way, pass by small towns and villages and stop at Nabalu Fruit Market for a break. Then visit Poring Hot Springs, a natural wonder where hot sulphur bubbles out of the earth; whilst there, a must-visit is the canopy walkway (41m) span for 157m from tree to tree, a rare opportunity to get a bird’s eye view of the rainforest. After lunch at a nearby restaurant, continue on to Kinabalu National Park. Experience one the park’s trails and enjoy the impressive view of Mount Kinabalu. Visit also the Exhibition Hall, and the Mountain Garden (one of the most popular attractions at the Park). Afterwards, towards the end of the afternoon, proceed to the nearby resort and check in. Day 3: Breakfast. At around 0830 hrs, depart for Sandakan across the ridges of the Crocker Range, passing native villages and oil palm estates among others, and enjoying the spectacular mountain scenery. On arrival at Sandakan town (expected around 1330 hrs), check in to your accommodation. The rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight. (B)
Day 4: Breakfast. At 0800 hrs, pick up from the hotel in Sandakan and drive to Sepilok Orang-Utan Rehabilitation Centre, where you will observe man's closest relative being rehabilitated to become wild in their natural habitat, and experience a walk in the Tropical Lowland Dipterocarp Forest of Borneo. Afterwards, visit the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre. This centre manage to improve the living condition of the rescued sun bear and released their natural behaviors in the 2.5ha enclosed forest. 11:15hrs depart Sepilok Centre transfer to jetty in Sandakan for Schedule boat depart at 1200hrs, take an hour boat cruise up to the Lower Kinabatangan River Sanctuary where you will take your lunch at Abai Jungle Restaurant. This is a wonderful journey of discovery which starts from the waters of Sulu Sea off Sandakan Town through a magnificent scenery of mangrove forest. Check in and relax at the lodge's nature boardwalk; be sure to bring along your binoculars - you might have the chance to spot the wild orang-utan, silver leaf monkeys, birds and more... Late in the afternoon, you'll be experiencing a cruise to search for wildlife until the sunset while enjoying a cup of coffee and by night falls continue the night cruise to witness the fireflies as Christmas Tree. Return to the lodge for dinner. After dinner, again experience the "Jungle at night" at our nature boardwalk to search for birds, snakes, insects and other wildlife with the nature guide. (B/L/D)
Day 5: Wake up to the calls of nature. After an early morning river trip to Pitas lake to observe more wildlife, you are invited to join our tree planting project with the locals, and enjoy a simple lunch arranged by the villagers at Abai village. This project is specially designed to help the locals. After lunch, cruise upriver to Sukau village in search of primates, especially the wild orang utan, birds, pygmy elephants and other wildlife. Arrive in Sukau, and check in at the Kinabatangan Riverside Lodge. In the late afternoon, take another river cruise to the Menanggul River, a small tributary of the Kinabatangan. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight. (B/L/D) Day 6: After breakfast, transfer by boat back to Sandakan. Enjoy another chance for wildlife sightings during the 2-hour journey, with a short break in Abai. Upon arrival at Sandakan jetty, transfer to your hotel or proceed to the airport. Day 1: ARRIVAL JAKARTA Upon arrival at Jakarta International airport, you will be met and directly transferred to your hotel. Overnight in Jakarta.
Day 2: JAKARTA – BANDUNG (B/L) After early breakfast at the hotel, depart for BANDUNG. En route, we’ll stop at the beautiful 'INDONESIA IN A MINIATURE' PARK (also known as Taman Mini Indonesia Indah), the famous BOGOR BOTANICAL GARDEN and the tea plantations in PUNCAK. In the late afternoon, arrive at the hotel for your two nights’ accommodation in Bandung.
Day 3: BANDUNG EXCURSION (B/L) Breakfast at the hotel, followed by a morning tour visiting TANGKUBAN PERAHU CRATER, which is an active volcano, and the CIATER HOT SPRING. Return to Bandung to explore the popular jeans market at CIHAMPELAS STREET, where you can buy good products at a bargain price.
Day 4: BANDUNG – BATURADEN (B/L) After breakfast, depart for BATURADEN in Central Java. En route, stop at NAGA VILLAGE to see the traditional lifestyle of the Sundanese people. Then proceed to Baturaden, a mountain resort on the slopes of Mount Slamet, and check into your accommodation in the town.
Day 5: BATURADEN – YOGYAKARTA (B/L) After early breakfast at the hotel, depart for DIENG PLATEAU to see its ancient Hindu temples complex, as well as its volcanic crater with bubbling mud and the colourful lake TELAGA WARNA. From there, proceed to BOROBUDUR, the biggest Buddhist temple in the world. Arrive in Yogyakarta late afternoon, and check into your hotel for two nights’ accommodation.
Day 6: YOGYAKARTA EXCURSION (B/L) After breakfast, proceed for a morning excursion to PRAMBANAN, the biggest Hindu temple in Indonesia. Afterwards, visit the 'KRATON', the former palace of the Sultan of Yogyakarta, before seeing some traditional Javanese batik processing and silver smith in KOTA GEDE.
Day 7: YOGYAKARTA – MALANG (B/L) After breakfast visit the magnificent 9th-century Hindu Temple of Prambanan, then drive, via the town of Solo, to MALANG. Lunch is provided en route. Overnight in Malang.
Day 8: MALANG – KALIBARU (B/L) Breakfast at the hotel. Malang is known as an old colonial retirement town with some colonial buildings, as well as refreshingly green parks and streets. From Malang, depart to Kalibaru, via the cities of Probolinggo and Jatiroto. Lunch is served in the city of Jember. In the afternoon, arrive at KALIBARU, and experience living in the atmosphere of a village surrounding by coffee & cocoa plantations. Overnight in Kalibaru. Optional Bromo Excursion: Early-morning drive by minibus to Wonokitri, via Malang, Purwodadi, Nongkojajar and Tosari; then continue to Bromo Volcano in Tengger. From the rim of the caldera of Bromo Volcano, you will enjoy the experience of seeing the spectacular sunrise. Breakfast will provided at a local restaurant.

Day 4: CANDIDASA – LOVINA BEACH (B) After breakfast at the hotel, depart for Lovina, on the north coast, stopping en route at the “Mother Temple” of Besakih and at Kintamani, overlooking the active volcano of Mount Batur and the beautiful lake. Prior to arriving in Lovina, stop at another beautiful Hindu temple, Meduwe Karang. Overnight in Lovina.
Day 5: LOVINA – SANUR (B) Rise early for a dolphin-spotting excursion in a traditional boat. Return to the hotel for breakfast, before driving south towards Bedugul, to visit the iconic Ulun Danu Temple at Beratan Lake. After stopping off at a local fruit and flower market, proceed to Munduk to visit the important Hindu temple of Batukaru, before heading south to Tanah Lot, the spectacular “temple on the rock”, where you can witness the sunset. Afterwards, transfer to the airport or hotel in south Bali.

Morning sightseeing begins with visit to the Nyaung Oo Market; Shwezigon Pagoda, the prototype of later Myanmar satupas; Wetkyi-in Gubyakkyi Temple, with fine mural paintings of jataka scenes; Htilominlo Temple, noted for its plaster carvings and visit lacquerware factory. Lunch at the local restaurant. Afternoon visit begins with Ananda Temple, an architectural masterpiece resembling a Greek Cross; Thatbyinnyu, the highest of Bagan temples and to end the day with Bupaya Pagoda, a Pyu style pagoda on the brink of majestic Ayeyarwady (Irrawaddy River). Day 03 (Wed) Bagan-Mandalay: by flight (B,L,D) Breakfast at the hotel. Morning transfer to airport to take a flight to Mandalay, the last Capital of Myanmar monarch. Morning excursion to Ancient Capital Amarapura, 11 Kilometers south of Mandalay visiting Mahagandayon monastery; 1.2 kilometer long U Bein Wooden Bridge and visit silk-weaving factory. Lunch at local restaurant. After lunch, visit Maha Muni Buddha Image and handy crafts workshops such as goldsmith, woodcarvings etc. Then proceed to Shwe Kyaung, and end up the day with Mandalay Hill, the vantage point for the view of Mandalay. Dinner at hotel and overnight at Hotel.
Day 04 (Thur) Mandalay-Mingun-Inwa-Sagaing: by boat and car (B,L,D) Breakfast at Hotel. Morning excursion to Mingun, a village on the western bank of Ayeyarwaddy River. Tour highlights include Settawya Pagoda with a marble foot print of Buddha; Pondawyapaya, nearby the river; Pahtodawgyi, an enormous pile of bricks is all that remains of King Bodawpaya's grandiose scheme; Mingun Bell, the world's largest ringing bell weighing 90 tons; Mingun Village; and Shinbume Pagoda, most attractive pagoda built in 1816 by King Bodawpaya's grandson in memory of one of his wives. Lunch at local restaurant. After coming back from Mingun, visit Inwa and Sagaing, a retreat for Buddhist devotees with numerous pagodas and monasteries. Return to Mandalay. Dinner at local restaurant and overnight at Hotel.
Day 05 (Fri) Mandalay-Heho: by flight / Heho-Inle: by car (B,L,D) Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Airport for the flight to Heho. Transfer from Heho airport to Inle lake, well known for its scenic beauty and its unique leg rower. Tour highlights include Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda; wonderful floating gardens; native method of fishing; traditional weaving villages; and village life in the lake. Lunch during Sightseeing.
